Cue.

Digging through sound effect folders mid-edit was eating my time, so I built my own search for them.

Why I made it

Filenames are a mess.

The sound effects I use for edits live on our office server. About 6,000 files, no tags, no descriptions, just names like DSGNWhsh_Fast_04.

Searching that in File Explorer meant guessing the exact word the sound designer picked. Cue reads those names the way a person would, so typing "whoosh" also finds Whsh, swoosh and air pass.

What it does

Find it, hear it, drop it in.

Search in plain words

Cue breaks codes like DSGNWhsh into "design whoosh", so normal words work.

Typos are fine

"impacrt" still finds impact. Handy when you're typing fast at 2am.

Knows similar words

Boom, hit and impact find each other. So do whoosh and swoosh, or drone and rumble.

Hover to preview

Move across a result to scrub through the sound. Click to play, or hold space.

Drag straight into your edit

Drop any result into DaVinci Resolve, Premiere or a folder. Works with files on the network drive too.

Fast and offline

Everything is indexed on your own computer, and new files get picked up when it opens.
